Toys of the 50's might have seemed a bit violent for today's PC world. The difference between then and now was, we could play out our aggression. Cowboys and Indians, Space men or whatever. A couple of hours of killing, shooting and vapourizing, then home for tea ready to start again.

Space was the final frontier. Comics, toys, sweets and even clothes, were all geared toward space. I even hung up my faithful snake belt for the Dan Dare space belt.
