Greasy Spoon Cafe, Fifties Nostalgia

It was in November 1940 that the German bombs destroyed the City. The King made his first visit the day after, the City was still smoldering and many unexploded bombs were still in the rubble. This visit was at a much happier time. Much of the City was still in ruins but the spirit of the people could not be broken. After a visit to the Cathedral the Royal couple went to the newly built Police College at Ryton-on-Dunsmore, a few miles out side Coventry.
