Along with the Bus companies were private
coach companies that also did very good business. Throughout
the summer there were day trips to the coastal towns and
places of interest. During the winter, trips to the London
theatres were also popular. The coach company would appoint
somebody in the area to collect money on a weekly basis
for the tickets. Every Friday night people would pay their
half-a-crown for their trip.
